Why have the registrations fees increased to $120?
The board of directors has raised the registration fees for Bedford Swim Team for the first time since 2004 because the projected expenses for this year exceed our projected income plus the amount of money in our reserve fund. Every year since 2005, the cost of running the team has exceeded its income from all sources. Over that time, the board was able to absorb the deficit using its reserve fund. However, this year, the reserve fund is too low to absorb the projected deficit and a fee increase is unavoidable. The board assures all of you that we will work hard to control our costs so that fee increases continue to be a rare occurrence in the Bedford Swim Team.
