Why have the christians changed the name of “Mesiah” and translated the whole religion into English ??
Answer Ahmer, Very good question! Actually, only English speaking people have translated the Scriptures into English. In Germany, the scriptures were translated into German, and in other countries the scriptures are translated into each language, as needed. Either we translate the scriptures, or we all have to learn Hebrew and Greek. In Greece, the original language of the New Testament is still used. There the name is Iesou. Because the Greek language has neither a Y nor an ‘sh’ diphthong, Iesou is as close as the Greeks can get to Y’shua. But then came the Latin translation, and then the early English translations, and each time we went further and further from the original. I don’t understand why that happened. Thanks to messianic Jews and a small but growing number of Christians who want to access a faith closer to the original, we are seeing a move toward recovering the name Y’shua in English.
