Why Have My Pair Of Breeding Lovebirds Stopped Laying Eggs?

You are not meant to let them breed clutch after clutch of eggs and babies. Two clutches per year is enough andf then you remove the nestboxes so they cannot breed again that year until a good long break. Keeping their nests their is giving them incentive to literally breed themselves to death. I am not surprised they have stopped but you should have made them stop a lot longer ago I am afraid…..for their healths sake. Make very sure the “sleeping” she is doing isnt just her in there sick. She will perch with no nesting box, but you must be very sure she isnt sick. You also need to build her up with excellent food and additional calcium and vitamins.
