Why have Adobe taken the decision to remove support for Adobe Reader Version 7?

The software that provided the encryption for SED in Adobe Reader 6 and 7, Adobe Content Server 3, will be replaced in 2009 by a new and enhanced version, Adobe Content Server 4 (ACS4). ACS4 has been built to work in conjunction with ADE, but is not compatible with earlier versions of Adobe Reader. In order to ensure that our documents provide you with the protection you need to ensure you are copyright compliant, we are encouraging our customers to move to ADE as soon as possible.
