Why have 4 different frames?
A. Using different frame rates means that the CRISMAS® computer sees more of the sperm track and therefore can a make more accurate assessments of swimming behaviour and velocities. Hamilton Thorne systems use a strobed light source to ‘see’ the sperm and then it uses 25 frames per second Video to record the sperm track. The HT system works a bit like an old movie camera by using the strobe to segment the motion and then it uses video to record that motion – therefore information about the track will be lost.
