Why hasn there been a woman pope or prophet?
No, there has never been and never will be a female priest, bishop, or Pope in the Catholic Church because it would be a direct violation of the will of God as revealed through His Son, Your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Who, by His consistent example, clearly revealed His intent, and hence the will of His heavenly Father, that ordination to the priesthood would be restricted to men. This goes beyond an obligation to obey what God has commanded. It is also a question of whether or not the Church possesses the authority to validly ordain a woman. It has been stated as an article of faith by the Pope that the Church does not possess such authority. Therefore, even if a bishop were to go through the motions of ordaining a woman, in direct defiance of the teaching of the Church and the authority of the Holy Father, there would still be no female priests, since such an “ordination” would be invalid, de facto, and the woman “ordained” in such a manner would not be a priestess.
Can not speak to woman Pope but there are many prophetesses around. And while your statement about the LDS church is kind of true, it’s also a lie. Women are prophets. Prophets of their own lives and prophets of their children’s lives. The LDS church believes anyone can receive revelation from God but the only person who can receive revelation for the entire world is the President (or Prophet) of the church. As far as while…I have no clue. As someone else said in the early church there were many women leaders.
