Why hasn President Bush been impeached for Abuse of Power?
Bush IS guilty of “high crimes and misdemeanors.” The U.S. Constitution declares that treaties signed by the U.S. become part of the law of the land. By violating treaties the U.S. had signed, George Bush violated the law of the U.S. Even if Congress, 100% of the voters, and God had approved the violation, Bush would still be responsible for what HE did. He wants to be the Decider, he should take the heat for his decisions. An impeachment trial will BEGIN to mend the damage doen by U.S. violations of international law and treaty, and the damage done to our own Constitutional system by the campaign of Cheney et. al. to create an Imperial Presidency. Using the powers of impeachment is a legitimate way to re-establish the balance of powers, when an executive runs away with the government. I hope to God it will also work to reverse the hideously unamerican notion that human beings have only the rights that a government GIVES them!
