Why has there been a postponement of the 70 soldiers who were supposed to depart from Langley AFB?”
The departure of 70 soldiers from Langley Air Force Base that had been scheduled for this weekend was understandably postponed because of the bad weather. The departure has been rescheduled for tonight — and the group from Fort Lee will head to Haiti to assist in earthquake relief efforts. The soldiers are from the 530th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, and they represent the largest deployment of personnel from Fort Lee to support Haiti. To date, the 633rd Logistics Readiness Squadron at Langley has uploaded more than 220 passengers and prepared nearly 750 tons of cargo for Haiti relief.
