The Banking (Special Provisions) Act 2008 and the Northern Rock plc Compensation Scheme Order 2008 require the Independent Valuer to adopt a number of statutory valuation assumptions. These include assuming that, as at the Valuation Date, Northern Rock is unable to continue as a going concern and is in administration.
