Why has the FOCAS go-live date been extended to April 2011?
The change was made to enable a more fully integrated statewide Financial Management System for the State of New York. With the NYFMS on the same software platform as FOCAS, the Strategic Alliance has expanded its vision for the statewide system to include a Services Oriented Architecture, master core data files that will be shared by FOCAS and NYFMS, and a single Identity and Access Management protocol. This higher level of integration between the two systems will require additional up-front planning and coordination of activities between the two projects.
