Why has replacing the laptop memory caused my notebook to fail to post/Boot ?
Well your memory comes protected form the world of static in its antistatic bag, laptop motherboards are also sensitive to high voltage in humans, we advise our customers to place one hand on the steel frame of the printer port shroud or the VGA 15 pin connector shroud, which if the skin is in contact with the steel chassis of the laptop the humans body should be earthed at the same potential voltage as the system board thus when the alternative hand holding and fitting the memory into the laptop memory slot is used there is less chance of a strike/jump of highly charged electrons injecting themselves into YOUR laptop motherboard, Be even safer and use a static free workbench and a wrist strap attached electronically to the bench mat.
