While not negating you concerns, let me make clear that all the people being held are NOT United States Citizens and that military rules do apply. Also, President Obama is attempting to make sure that all those detained do receive trials. Some of these people are known terrorists who simply haven’t been caught actively doing things but are known to be plotters of terrorist activities. I agree that the Patriot Act gives the government way to much authority. I think the new administration is attempting to undo some of the harm done with the legislation. People over reacted to 9/11 and then President Bush and his cohorts too advantage of us and tried to make the government more powerful than it should be. Hopefully this will change over the next couple of years.
