Why has OCNMS provided a list of priority topics prior to the beginning of the scoping process?
In previous management plan reviews, the Office of National Marine Sanctuaries has gone to the public without providing an assessment of what topics should be considered during the review. Many members of the public expressed their concern with participating in the scoping process without any initial guidance from sanctuary staff. OCNMS feels that by providing a preliminary list of priority topics that could be discussed in management plan review, we will facilitate a more meaningful dialogue with the public.
