Why has Martin ONeil left Aston Villa?
O’Neill is probably completely stressed out because American Owner Randy Lerner is a Wall Street banker who has decided to cream the profits off the top of the club and buy lots of new players for his Cleveland Browns American Football team for the new season just starting. Lerner is selling the best players, such as Barry and Milner and not buying any new ones. Also he is now about to put his oldest child Laura through the most expensive university, and he has kids in their teens with discipline problems, so I think he is not so interested in Aston Villa any longer. Lerner has 90% of Aston Villa shares, making him the majority shareholder and he made himself Chairman. Aston Villa also have £ millions of debt that were there from when Lerner took over the club and they were close to being relegated back then. Villa has a high wage bill and it is easy for the debt to snowball and the club goes the way of Leeds or Portsmouth. Bottom line is Aston Villa will finish in the lower half of th
