The State Office of Information Technology (OIT) passed a policy (IT-POL-003) that applies to ALL state agencies, including higher education, that was reissued in January 2005. As a result, LSU Property Management implemented new requirements for surplusing computing devices. The University cannot recommend destroying and rendering unusable any state-owned device or computer storage media.
