Why has Gotland University chosen to visit Skidmore?
Gotland will be entirely transformed into a liberal arts college. There are one or two programs that will not be affected by this reform, but apart from these programs, everything will be changed. Through STINT, we have learned that Skidmore is a highly esteemed liberal arts college. Skidmore has been involved several times in STINT’s fellowship program, Excellence in Teaching. Skidmore is well-known for its long history of distance education, an aspect that’s very important for Gotland. STINT has sent several Swedish teachers to Skidmore College, and they all testify to the high quality of this particular college. In our understanding, liberal education focuses on each individual student, just as it fosters critical thinking and communication skills.
