Today’s modern homes are built much tighter than in the past. There isn’t as much fresh air (leaking in). Central air systems re-circulate the same air, along with all of its contaminants. Common household dust contains dust mites, pet dander, mold, mildew and pollen. In today’s society, people spend much more time indoors, working on the computer, watching TV or avoiding poor weather conditions. This has resulted in a heightened concern for indoor air quality. Senior citizens, families with newborns, and people suffering from asthma or allergies are among the most concerned.
