Why has CMU chosen to use the CSS PROFILE?

0

We have chosen to partner with the College Board and to use the College Scholarship Service (CSS) PROFILE form, for application processing. The College Board is a not-for-profit membership association comprised of 5,400 schools, colleges and other educational organizations. They have been in the admissions and financial aid business since 1900. The majority of our peer institutions have been using the CSS PROFILE form as their institutional aid application for many years. In a few years, we will replace our existing Student Information System (SIS) and its current financial aid functionality. We are preparing now for this. The CSS PROFILE will be our 2011-12 institutional financial aid application. The CSS will process the financial aid data submitted by students and parents, image the tax documents and transmit data and images to CMU. We will use this data, along with the data submitted on the FAFSA, to determine the student’s eligibility for federal and institutional financial aid.
