Why has Carpal Tunnel Syndrome grown into an epidemic in the United States?
The primary reason is because people are extremely active and are doing the same types of movements for many hours every day, and they don’t know how important it is to flush toxins out of their muscles. For example, a person who is on a computer for hours every day, and then goes home to relax and either plays a piano, crochets, or plays tennis, is using the exact same muscles as they were at work. In this case, the forearm and hand muscles have contracted many thousands of times, eventually shortening. These muscles all insert into the wrist and they all have an impact on the carpal tunnel and the median nerve.
