Why has all commuter student parking been relocated to the Water Street lot?
The decision was made to help minimize the number of vehicles traveling in parking lots near the construction zones. The Phillips parking lot and streets near this parking lot will experience increased traffic due to the construction. Many of these vehicles will be large, slow moving vehicles and safety is a top concern. With the number of construction vehicles entering and exiting the lots throughout the day, there cannot be vehicles circling the lots or sitting idle waiting for parking spots to open up.
