Why has a piece of email been classified as spam?
SpamSMART uses a number of methods to determine whether a piece of email is spam. It looks at details like the sender and recipient email addresses, checks if the email is associated with a list of known spammers, and even looks at the content to determine if it is likely to be spam. Every time a piece of email meets on of these criteria, it gains points. When a piece of email exceeds a certain number of points (as set by your organization), it is classified as potential spam and is quarantined. Email that does not exceed the points threshold is delivered to the intended recipient.
