Why Haldir… and Craig?
Haldir is my favourite Tolkien character of all of them. All film material aside, he is as all Elves are… kind, friendly, joyous and very warm and welcoming. Not a hint of arrogance in his book character, and I admired his behaviour towards the lost Fellowship and the Dwarf, Gimli. Why Craig? Because Haldir in the film was a Haldir of his own. Very very different from the book Haldir, yes, but brilliant in his own way. And portrayed by the most lovable actor, Criag Parker? I don’t think anyone can resist that!
