Why government should ban the gun ownership?
I can think of only two reasons that the government should ban guns: 1. To secure a small to moderate amount of money for all that steel they confiscate. 2. To give gun fearing liberals peace of mind that the legislation is in place and that “all” of america will now willfully turn in their guns and flowers will fall from the heavens and peace will reign. In truth, any reason someone gives you that is in favor of banning guns is completely without logic. The disarming of a nation serves only those in power, takes the chance to defend themselves from law abiding people, and does nothing to address the psychological or social issues that caused the crime in the first place. People need to remember that a gun is a tool, just like a vehicle. Funny that the liberals never call for a ban on automobiles when a bad accident happens. Not to mention the fact that far more people die from automobile accidents than guns in a year.

Washington DC’s low murder rate of 69 per 100,000 is due to strict gun control, and Indianapolis’ high murder rate of 9 per 100,000 is due to the lack of gun control. Statistics showing high murder rates justify gun control but statistics showing increasing murder rates after gun control are “just statistics.” The Brady Bill and the Assault Weapons Ban, both of which went into effect in 1994 are responsible for the decrease in violent crime rates, which have been declining since 1991. We must get rid of guns because a deranged lunatic may go on a shooting spree at any time and anyone who would own a gun out of fear of such a lunatic is paranoid. The more helpless you are the safer you are from criminals. An intruder will be incapacitated by tear gas or oven spray, but if shot with a .357 Magnum will get angry and kill you.
