Why fixed bias of bjt got its name so?

Fixed bias means bias that is not adjustable. Bias is the time invariant voltage and current applied to a device (in this case a BJT) so that it can operate in the desired part of its IV curve. A BJT is a Bipolar Junction Transistor. Bipolar because it contains one forward biased junction and one reverse biased junction when biased in the active region. Note there are other types of Transistors such as Junction Field Effect Transistors and Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistors.
