Why Farmers cooperative?
Farmers’ cooperatives have been formed as the nodal institutions to support farmers in getting better scope in agriculture as a livelihood opportunity. These cooperatives are formed to work on economies of scale and provide backward and forward linkage on agriculture to its members. These cooperatives will extend services on productivity enhancement, marketing, agro processing and through establishing linkages and tie ups with resource agencies, Govt. line departments, input supply agencies, financial institutions and marketing agencies. Through this institution supply of inputs and sale of produce would be ensured for the farmers thereby ensuring better income for farm families.
