Why EP?
There are lots of reasons to EP. Most of us EP because we were committed to giving our babies breastmilk but for whatever reason breastfeeding didn’t work out. Some started with preemies in NICU who weren’t able to latch after leaving the hospital. Some choose to pump for convenience or personal reasons. Some had physical problems (like cleft lip, high palate, etc.). Some EP for a while to recover from damaged nipples or other reasons and then breastfeed later on. Board survey results for this question Research is focused more and more on the benefits of mothers’ milk as “liquid gold”. Lots of moms don’t pump enough milk to give their babies 100% MM, though some here make WAY more than enough. We now know that every little bit of milk is good for babies, and the moms here take great pride in every drop we can give.
