Why English at Sussex?
Sussex’s School of English is a community of dynamic students and faculty. English at Sussex scored 97 per cent in the teaching category and 95 per cent in the student satisfaction category of the 2010 National Student Survey (NSS), ranking in the top 10 out of 95 institutions in the UK. In the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) 95 per cent of our English research was rated as recognised internationally or higher, and over half rated as internationally excellent or higher. In the School of English, you will be taught by some of the best literary scholars in the world. Our emphasis is on teaching you in small seminar groups taught by our faculty.
