0

– There are a number of good reasons to eat more local, seasonal food: • to reconnect with nature’s cycles and the passing of time • to eat the vegetables within 12 to 24 hours from harvesting • to reduce the energy (and associated CO2 emissions) needed to grow and transport the food we eat • to avoid paying a premium for food that is scarcer or has traveled a long way • to support the local economy but, most importantly, because • seasonal food is fresher and so tends to be tastier and more nutritious How does it work? – Each week’s harvest is divided up between the members. The vegetables are harvested the morning of the scheduled delivery, with the exception of a few that take a while to harvest the evening before. The members share is then cleaned, divided up, packaged and delivered to a drop off site once a week for the member to pick up. When and Where do we deliver to? – Beginning in Fall 2009 we are delivering to one drop off site in: Mondays: Denton – In the Albertsons Grocery
