Why dry firewood?
before burning but you can get away with storing during a summer to get most of the benefit. The wood needs airflow to dry out. Storing it in airtight conditions (by putting a tarpaulin across it) will have the same effect as leaving your wet washing in a pile and not hanging it up. Over time it will go dank and mouldy. Use a log store to create the fastest drying conditions for your winter fuel.
