Why drink bottled water when the U.S. has good tap water?
Nestlé Waters North America supports people drinking more water—regardless of whether it comes from a faucet or a bottle. Both have their place, and three-quarters of bottled water drinkers drink both. In this country 30% of adults and a growing number of kids are overweight or obese. This is a health crisis. A lot of the calories people get today come from their beverages, and drinking water is part of the solution. With the reality of today’s on-the-go lifestyle, 70% of what we drink comes in a bottle or a can. If you consider all the bottled beverages available for people to drink, it’s good they can simply choose a quality, calorie-free water in a bottle. Imagine for a moment that bottled water didn’t exist — what would people drink? Yes, some would drink tap water, but more than half of people surveyed who drink bottled water, however, say they’d choose other packaged beverages, such as soda, if bottled water weren’t available. Bottled water also plays a crucial role in times whe
