Why don women give men an engagement ring?
I did get him one. He didn’t want it. Most men would not want one. The ring actually represents the man’s claim on the woman. I’m sure most men wouldn’t want to be claimed. Heck it is relatively recently that men started routinely wearing a wedding ring. And there aren’t a lot of masculine styled engagement type rings. Vlad, the woman hater, I spent three times as much on an engagement ring as my ex did. And just because jewelry stores tell you to spend two months pay on a ring doesn’t mean you have to. That’s an advertising ploy and if a man falls for it, don’t blame the woman. Any couple with any sense will spend what they can afford. Spending two months worth of income is usually outside any rational budget. If they overspend like that on a ring, it’s doesn’t bode well for the future.
