Why dont they teach typing on a typewriter? Is it the same as teaching learners to use film?
I used a manual typewriter to learn to type, it wasn’t even electric. I can tell you that you learned to not make mistakes. There’s no backup key. Sure you have white out but good grief, slow down and quit making mistakes. That’s what it teaches you. When I took the mandatory typing class in Jr. High it was on a typewriter, even though I was taking basic programing later that day on a computer. If you think that film will teach you to to be quicker you’re thinking wrong. By slowing down and making less mistakes you’ll finish your work faster. So yeah, you’re totally right. We should have our schools teach typing on manual typewriters. Good point. The real answer to your last question is to use both digital and film.
