Why don they make pistols like the colt navys anymore?
Replicas are still made, and if you want something more powerful, there are great choices in wheelguns from people like Ruger and Smith&Wesson. But a lot of people (1) carry their handguns around all day, and a slab-sided autoloader is more comfortable to carry or (2) have no confidence they’ll be able to stop a fight with five shots, and they feel better with the extras. Personally, I only carry mine when I plan to use them, and my philosophy in home defense is that if I can’t stop the fight with the first few shots, it’s past time for me to throw the pistol and run like heck, but others have different tools for different needs.
