why dont the postal service send forwarded mail (check) to your new P.O box?
You may need to check with your local USPS location and what the regulations are for certain types of mail. The company that sends the mail can also play a part in mail forwarding. There are certain items (like tax checks and W-2s) that are not allowed to be forwarded. Companies can also send certain mailings that they deem can not be forwarded. I had this problem once and I had to call the company that was mailing it, give them the new address, and then wait for them to resend it to the new address. Depending on the company you are getting the mail from … some of them will not forward to a P.O. Box. You might want to check with the company that sent it and see if the problem is on their end or with the USPS. If the problem is with the USPS it will be easier (more than likely) to go to your local branch and talk to them about it and find out what they can do.
