Why don the churches get rid of Christmas since it stumbles many because of pagan origins?
Jehovah’s Witnesses do not celebrate Christmas since with accurate knowledge that Christ commanded how we are to remember him in Luke 22:19. We strictly observe and keep to what God commanded which is the biblical requirement and not adding to it ourselves our own worldly observances. Christmas was not celebrated by first century Christians as any other kind of birthday. Christ wanted to be remembered as he commanded in Luke 22:19 and that his death be remembered each year. That is what Christ himself wanted. There is no biblical record of the day Christ was born, but his death is recorded on the Passover of Nisan 14 in 33 C.E. The God’s inspired word in the Bible stresses the importance of the date of Christ’s death not the observance of the exact date of his birth.
