Why don some natural soaps lather as much as commercial soaps?

0

Most commercial soaps contain a chemical foaming agent. Lather can be produced naturally when water is mixed with the base oils in soap. The amount of natural lather will depend on which base oils are in the soap. A high percentage of the less expensive Coconut Oil will produce a bar that lathers extremely well. Our base recipe does not include a large amount of Coconut Oil. We choose to use oils that are more moisturizing for the skin, instead of oils that produce an abundance of lather. It is a misconception that you need lather for cleansing. Lather is not necessary for cleaning the skin.
