Why don pastors explain evolution properly to their congregations?
I don’t have anything about pastors who don’t explain evolution to their congregations. It is the job of the school teachers to do that. But I have definitely something against clerics of any religion who preach anti-scientific or pseudo-scientific nonsense. Such clerics should let science to people who are knowledgeable.
Some pastors don’t understand evolution and so can’t explain it properly. I imagine some would get lots of angry feedback from their congregation if they did so because many Christians don’t like the idea of evolution. Some may understand it but it is against their interests to accept it or for their congregation to accept it. Another reason might simply that evolution is a science and so is not more a pastor’s duty to teach than germ theory or physics – that could be an excuse for pastors who simply don’t address evolution, but not those who teach it incorrectly.
