Why don nutrition information labels include caffeine content?
Because the FDA doesn’t require it. Label “real estate” is valuable so food companies generally don’t include anything they don’t have to UNLESS they think it will help them sell their product. Of course, I’m sure some are wondering why doesn’t the FDA require caffeine isn’t required to be listed. Since they know the food companies are likely to fight having to list the extra info, the FDA would have to feel that there is enough public outcry for it in order to justify it. So far, that doesn’t seem to be the case. Afterall, there isn’t enough space for companies to list all nutrition information on food packaging. ========================== Space varies from one product to the next.
