This question reverts to one of Bible authority. Simply because an action has not received condemnation does not mean it has received authorization. For example, when God told Noah to build an ark of gopher wood, He did not have to tell Noah not to use any other type of wood. Certainly all would recognize that because God did not specifically forbid the use of oak or pine, Noah did not have the authority to use them, for God did specify gopher wood. Likewise, as the Bible says in Ephesians 5:19, “Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord,” God did not have to say “do not play” or “do not dance,” for those were not granted authority by their mere exclusion. This passage also makes mention of the “speaking to yourselves.” This was a reciprocal action. It was not to be done by one individual to another, each was to be a participant.
