Why don more Americans learn a second language?

0

I think WE think that everyone will learn English, which is sad. I’ve had the experience of learning French, Japanese, and Spanish, and am in the process of learning Hebrew (not as much fun as it sounds….). All have been fun, but challenging. The downside is that if there is no one else to practice or speak with, it’s harder to maintain fluency. I agree with you; we should encourage children to learn a second language when they are small, when it is easier!
