As of Dec/2003 “Beep” XBell events are tracked by default. The X server must support the XKEYBOARD extension (this is not on by default in Solaris, see Xserver(1) for how to turn it on via +kb), and so you won’t hear them if the extension is not present. If you don’t want to hear the beeps use the -nobell option. If you want to hear the audio from the remote applications, consider trying a redirector such as esd.
