Why don governments ban smoking altogether?
Governments i believe will eventually ban smoking altogether. I don’t think it will be for a good few years yet however, and i personally don’t think they have any right or justification to ban it at all in any sense. The choice to smoke or not should be someones own personal choice, not the decision of the state just because smoking is harmful, after all there are numerous other things we can do which are harmful that we are still allowed to do, such as drinking a lot, or eating unhealthy food and not exercising. Governments also make too much money from smoking to ban it altogether, from the huge taxes they put on cigarettes, and from the import taxes paid when tobacco of any kind is brought into the country, so as badly as they ostracize and oppress smokers, they still need them for a good piece of their income. another factor is that most countries like to project the image of being built upon free will and equality for everyone, and banning someone from his right to choose to do s
