Why Don Gas Airsoft Guns Work In British Climate ?
England is currently in the middle of the coldest Winters in 25 years. Performance of gas guns degrade massively in the cold as gas guns are powered by the rapid expansion of evaporating volatile liquids (yes, you fill your mags with liquid ‘gas’ not gaseous gas). In cold weather the liquids are slower to evaporate and expand, giving much less power. Typically under about 5 degrees Celsius, most regular gas pistols aren’t really worth using. You can offset this somewhat by keeping chemical hand warmers in your mag pouches, or by keeping mags close to your body, it won’t make a huge difference though. You can also use a higher pressure gas – if your gun normally runs on 134a, use Abbey Ultra, if it uses Ultra, then use green or propane… Just be careful when using more powerful gases when temperatures rise again as the more powerful gas which worked fine in Winter could well blow the slide off your gun in Summer. Other than that all I can say is rely on spring/electric guns for the col
