Why don boxers noses bleed profusely during just about every fight?
The nose will only bleed when the tissues are injured enough to cause damage that is severe enough to result in bleeding. Most boxers’ noses are made up of a lot of scar tissue (which builds up due to years of taking punches to the face), which makes it harder for the nose to bleed. Also, during the course of a fight vaseline is shoved up the nose to stop and or prevent any bleeding. Lastly, if a boxer has a nose that is prone to bleeding, they will most likely have been caterized, which is a medical procedure during which the blood vessels closest to the skin (the ones that cause a nose bleed) have been burned so that they can not bleed.
