Why don’t all patients with injuries use hyperbaric oxygen for better healing?
Normal wounds do not heal faster with more oxygen. The healing rate in normal tissue is not limited by oxygen supply. For specific types of wounds or injuries, however, the oxygen supply may be limited, preventing the tissue from healing. When this is the case, hyperbaric oxygen may be beneficial.
