Here is why I say that: 1. Parachutes must fit properly. You would have to provide different chutes for children and for people that are overweight. Babies would have no chutes. Old folks would never get them to fit. So they would obtain no benefit. 2. Parachutes take a long time to put on. People would not wear them all the time, and so would not have time to get them to fit or to get them on during an emergency. 3. Parachutes require training to use. Some folks would be killed by improper procedures. Several folks would undoubtedly trigger their chutes prior to exiting the aircraft, effectively blocking all the exits for themselves and everyone else. 4.
