Why don't you use “traditional” formatting to make your pages also look good in older browsers such as Netscape 4?
Web standards discourage and sometimes even disallow using “traditional” formatting methods such as using spacer images and tables for layout purposes or using colors and fonts that are hardcoded within the page content. These techniques work as long as all web users use the same kind of platform (e.g., personal computers), but make it virtually impossible to view such pages with new devices such as mobile phones or special needs browsers (e.g., braille or aural interfaces.
