Why doesn’t the TriGen Instrument Set include a curved awl?
The TriGen system is designed to offer a new surgical approach that involves a smaller incision, enhanced soft tissue management, better containment of blood and improved access to the bone. The use of the awl is replaced with the use of the Entry Tool and Guide pin to gain access to the bone and in establishing an entry portal. If a curved awl is requested, we suggested that one be pulled from an another instrument set.
