Why doesn the trash company take TVs curbside?
TVs and other computer equipment contain hazardous metals such as lead, mercury, nickel, and cadmium. These metals are often banned from landfills. In the City’s case, the private landfill owned by Waste Management Inc. has banned these metals. So we either recycle the materials or the equipment is disassembled in a proper environmental way.
