Why doesn the TDK DVD+Rs or +RWs blank DVDs work in my MAC computers?

The issue may be two-fold. • First, many of the Apple built in SuperDrive burners do not support DVD+ media (they are DVD- only burners). On top of that, a few programs won’t work with DVD+ media at all (iDVD and DVD Studio Pro, to name a couple), regardless of what the burner is capable of doing. • Second, there is a reading issue with the CD/DVD reading drivers in the MacOS. Until MacOS X 10.3 (Panther), the DVD+ ID code was unreadable to the MAC and discs with this ID code (which is standard for the DVD+ format) wouldn’t mount. Apple addressed the issue in 10.3 (this doesn’t correct the writing issues in some programs with DVD+ media). The issue could be masked in OS 9, if you happen to have Toast installed (or another program that provides CD/DVD drivers). Under OS X, everything typically uses the system drivers for reading and writing.
